Smokey and Teatro alla Scala

Sculptural, simple and refined: with Smokey the Italian designers Antonio De Bellis Pasquale Belmonte have reread the archetype of the hanger. The result is an outdoor ashtray simple and elegant, able to relate harmoniously and not smoking. As of December 7, 2013, to coincide with the opening of the 2013/2014 season, Smokey has become the official ashtray of Teatro alla Scala. Smokey was designed in the second edition of the JTI Clean City Lab (2012), international contest sponsored by JTI (Japan Tobacco International) and conducted by Future Concept Lab. The competition is aimed at students attending the most prestigious European schools of design, in order to encourage the design of innovative solutions that facilitate coexistence between smokers and non-smokers in the urban context.
