Genius Loci Lab
Genius Loci Lab is an interdisciplinary project, developed by multicultural work group, entirely dedicated to innovation and "creative pollination". Future Concept Lab with the launch of the genius loci lab project in 1999 and the creation of the site in 2001, made possible a new platform which allows not only for exchange and networking but also the growth of creative projects. The proposed themes, continuously updated, range from the elaboration of the current phenomena and the presentation of methodologies and theoretical issues to the creative/artistic expressions, design issues and innovation. The Genius Loci Lab website, makes it possible for people to learn something about the pollination involving the energy of places, persons, plans and projects and the new possibilities of exchange and creative, exploratory analysis, utilizing the World Web as a place of permanent growth on the three temporal levels of the past (the Research), the present (the Experimenting) and the future (the Visioning). In various occasions during the year the genius loci lab team selects and “launches” new visions, thoughts and projects, acting like a filter and display monitoring some of the most important international events (such as the Milan Furniture Fair, London Fashion Week, Cannes Film Festival, etc.). On the other side, creative minds that come from different parts of the world can propose and present their projects and ideas in the genius loci lab, by sending material directly to the team. The team undertakes the task of communicating to its ever expanding network (companies, institutes and individuals) the most interesting findings. Showcase is the name of the virtual space dedicated to innovation, in which the selected projects of the various participants can be shared to the rest of the world. In the the genius loci lab web site the unique stimuli received by the world-wide players become universal projects, bringing together the worlds of creativity, research and business. Il Genius Loci Lab è un progetto interdisciplinare, sviluppato da un gruppo di lavoro interculturale, interamente dedicato all’innovazione e all’impollinazione creativa. Future Concept Lab, con il lancio del progetto Genius Loci Lab nel 1999 e la realizzazione del sito www.geniuslocilab.com nel 2001, ha reso possibile la maturazione di un nuovo ‘luogo’ in cui, oltre al punto di incontro e alla rete di scambi, viene dato un forte impulso alla crescita di progetti creativi. I temi proposti, aggiornati continuamente, spaziano dall’elaborazione di fenomeni attuali, alla presentazione di metodologie e approcci teorici, alle espressioni creative e artistiche nell’ambito del design e dell’innovazione. Il Genius Loci Lab, attraverso il sito web, invita alla riflessione sull’incrocio dell’energia dei luoghi, delle persone, dei pensieri e dei progetti, e sulle nuove possibilità di scambio e di tematizzazione creativa ed esplorativa, utilizzando la Rete come luogo di crescita permanente sui tre livelli temporali: passato (Ricerca), presente (Esplorazione) e futuro (Progettazione). Nel corso dell’anno, il team del Genius Loci Lab seleziona e ‘lancia’ nuove visioni, idee e progetti, in qualità di filtro e monitor creativo, partecipando ai più importanti eventi internazionali ( Salone del Mobile di Milano, London Fashion Week, Festival del cinema di Cannes, ecc…). Contemporaneamente, figure creative provenienti da ogni parte del pianeta possono raggiungere e proporre le proprie idee al Genius Loci Lab, inviando il materiale direttamente al team che, in linea con il proprio ruolo, mette a fuoco e condivide le proposte più significative con un network di aziende, istituti e professionisti di diversi settori. ‘Show Case’ è il nome dello spazio virtuale dedicato all’innovazione all’interno del sito, in cui i progetti selezionati possono essere condivisi con il resto del mondo. All’interno del sito gli stimoli ricevuti dalle singole persone diventano progetti universali, unendo i mondi della creatività, della ricerca e dell’impresa. |
